SBR
SBR, or styrene-butadiene rubber, is a synthetic rubber copolymerized from styrene and butadiene. It exists in two main forms, i.e., solution SBR (S-SBR) and emulsion SBR (E-SBR), with E-SBR being more widely used. SBR is known for its good abrasion resistance and aging stability when protected with additives. SBR latex is a key ingredient in waterproofing solutions for concrete and mortar. It enhances water resistance and reduces permeability. SBR as a bonding agent improves the adhesion between old and new concrete, making it ideal for repairs and renovation. It increases the tensile, flexural, and compressive strength of concrete, making it more durable and resistant to cracking. It is also used to create waterproof and durable concrete screeds for floors, as well as to featheredge and restore damaged areas.
